Geri Mineau is a Research Professor at the University of Utah and an Investigator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Utah, specializing in demography. Dr. Mineau directed the Utah Population Database from 1994 to 2010, a resource containing extensive family histories, vital statistics, and medical data. This database has supported research on cancers (breast, colorectal, melanoma, prostate, childhood), autism, inflammatory bowel disease, Alzheimer’s, macular degeneration, longevity, fertility, and prenatal care.
Her research focuses on genetic and demographic factors influencing health outcomes, with applications to cancer epidemiology, neurological disorders, and public health.
