Gerhild Fuchs is an Associate Professor at the University of Innsbruck, leading the 'Textmusik in der Romania' archive since 2015. She specializes in French and Italian literature, film, and popular music. Her research bridges intermedial and postcolonial approaches, focusing on cultural hybridity and regional identity. She holds a PhD (1995) and Habilitation (2010) in Romance Studies, with her habilitation monograph exploring literary topographies in Italian contemporary narratives.

Her 150+ publications include monographs on Alessandro Baricco and Gianni Celati, edited volumes on cultural intersections, and articles analyzing Italian rap, Neapolitan cabaret, and postcolonial perspectives in Elena Ferrante’s works. Current roles include coordinating literature curricula and book acquisitions at the University of Innsbruck.
