Prof. Gerhard W. Eschweiler is an Associate Professor for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen, serving as Managing Director of the Geriatric Centre at the University Hospital Tuebingen since 2005. His clinical specialization includes Gerontopsychiatry, with a research focus on neurodegenerative diseases, biomarkers for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and the psychological impact of aging.
- Education: MD from Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen (1987), Post-doctoral Fellowship at Max-Planck-Institute for Developmental Biology (1989-1991), Venia Legendi in Psychiatry/Psychotherapy (2004).
- Key Projects: Co-led the TREND study (2009-2011) on preclinical markers of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, involving multidisciplinary collaboration across neurology, psychiatry, and geriatric medicine.
