Gergely György is a Professor of Psychology at the Department of Cognitive Science, Central European University (CEU), Budapest. He has held academic positions including Head of Developmental Research at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Visiting Professorships at UCL and Stanford. His research focuses on developmental psychology, social cognition, and the evolution of human learning mechanisms.
- Education: PhD in Psychology (1986, Columbia University), DSc from Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2002), and habilitation in Cognitive Neuroscience (2006).
- Professional Memberships: Editorial boards of Developmental Science, Infancy, and European Psychologist; Fellow of the American Psychological Society.
Research interests include theory of mind, natural pedagogy, teleological reasoning, and comparative studies of social communication in infants and animals.
