Gerard P. Hodgkinson is a Professor of Strategic Management and Behavioral Science at Alliance Manchester Business School. He has held leadership roles including Vice-Dean for Research (2017-2022) and Deputy Head of the Business School (2016-2017). His academic career spans the Universities of Warwick, Leeds, Exeter, Sheffield, and Manchester, with notable roles such as Head of Warwick Business School's Behavioural Science Group and Associate Dean overseeing teaching quality.
Education includes a DSc (Higher Doctorate) from the University of Warwick (2014-2015), a PhD from the University of Sheffield (1988-1993), and earlier degrees in Social Science and Industrial Psychology. He is a Fellow of multiple institutions including the British Academy of Management, British Psychological Society, and Academy of Social Sciences.
Research focuses on the psychology of strategic management, cognitive processes in decision-making, and applications of neurosciences to organizational behavior. Key areas include dynamic capabilities, emotional foundations of strategy, and overcoming cognitive biases. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to industry innovation and responsible consumption.
