Gerard Coleman is Associate Professor of the Practice in Marine Engineering Technology at Texas A&M University at Galveston. His naval career foundation includes an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the U.S. Navy (1987) and an M.S. in Engineering Management from George Washington University (1996), complementing his B.S. in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy (1980).
Professor Coleman's pedagogy emphasizes self-directed learning: "How to teach themselves." His decorated career includes the Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Award (2009) and Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Former Students (2012).
