Gerald H. Haug is a leading climate geologist and geochemist with affiliations across prestigious institutions. He currently serves as Director of the Climate Geochemistry Department at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry and a Scientific Member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. His academic career includes an Ordinary Professorship in Climate Geology at ETH Zurich since 2007.
Education:

- PhD in Geosciences, University of Kiel (1995)
- Habilitation in Earth Sciences, ETH Zürich (2002)
Research Interests focus on reconstructing past climate changes, particularly during the Late Neogene, and analyzing biogeochemical processes in oceans and lakes to understand climate-society interactions.
