معرفی
Gerald B. Cleaver is a Professor of Physics and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Physics at Baylor University, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. He leads the Early Universe Cosmology and String Theory (EUCOS) research group within Baylor's Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics, and Engineering Research (CASPER). Cleaver earned his Ph.D. in String Theory and Early Universe Cosmology from Caltech (1993), followed by postdoctoral roles at Texas A&M University and the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on string/M theory, quantum gravity, and the theoretical exploration of traversable wormholes and warped spacetimes. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed papers and serves as Editor of Heliyon Physics and Field Theory Section Editor-in-Chief of Universe.
Education:
- Ph.D., String Theory & Early Universe Cosmology, California Institute of Technology (1993)
- M.S. and B.S. in Physics, Valparaiso University (1985)
- B.S. in Mathematics, Valparaiso University (1985)
Research Interests: Cleaver's work spans string theory, wormhole physics, quantum gravity, and Loop Quantum Cosmology collaborations with Prof. Anzhong Wang. His group investigates curvature invariants of spacetime geometries and multiverse proposals. Notable contributions include analyses of warp drive metrics and entropy in quantum systems.
Recent Publications Trends: Recent work emphasizes quantum gravity effects in cosmological models, invariant classifications of spacetime geometries, and dynamical Casimir effect phenomena. His team explores both theoretical frameworks (e.g., modified loop quantum gravity) and applied topics (e.g., lunar base water management).
Awards & Memberships:
- Fellow of the American Scientific Affiliation
- Member of Sigma Pi Sigma, Sigma Xi, and Triple-9 Society
- Recipient of Mensa Graduate Fellowship and National Merit Scholarship
Advising & Labs: Advised over 20 graduate students and collaborates with the GCAP Research Group. EUCOS includes affiliate faculty like Jeffrey Lee (thermodynamics-cryptography cross-disciplinarian) and David McNutt (Norwegian Naval Academy).
Labs/Teams: Directs the EUCOS division of CASPER and co-leads the GCAP group. Active in theoretical astrophysics and interstellar propulsion research.
