Geraint D'Arcy is Associate Professor in Media Practice at the University of East Anglia's School of Media, Language and Communication Studies. His research intersects comics studies, film/TV production design, and theatre technology aesthetics.
Research examines visual storytelling techniques across comics, film and theatre, with particular focus on adaptation processes, scenographic practices, and technological mediation. Publications analyze mise-en-scène in comics, horror theatre effects, and design aesthetics in screen adaptations.
Current projects investigate gender representation in spy fiction adaptations and intermedial relationships between comics and film. He coordinates the Comics Studies Research Group and organizes international conferences on graphic narratives.
