Georgios Daskalakis

Georgios Daskalakis serves as Professor of Finance and Academic Program Director for the Masters in Finance (MiF) at MBSC. Previously, he held positions as Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of East Anglia, UK, and adjunct Lecturer in Finance at the University of Aegean, Greece.

Education:

• Master’s in Applied Mathematics, University of Cambridge, UK
• PhD in Management Science and Technology, Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece

His research focuses on empirically driven interdisciplinary work at the intersection of finance and sustainability. Key areas include carbon markets, EU Emissions Trading Scheme dynamics, energy market interrelations, and sustainable corporate finance practices. His doctoral research specifically examined the EU Emissions Trading Scheme's interactions with European electricity markets.

Teaching and Program Leadership:

Dr. Daskalakis teaches corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, and data analysis across undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education levels. As Academic Director of the MiF program, he oversees curriculum development and academic standards for the finance specialization.
