Georgios Bakos

Georgios Bakos is a Full Professor in the Energy Systems Department at the University of Thessaloniki's Faculty of Engineering, and Director of the Energy Economics Laboratory. He specializes in technologies and exploitation of alternative energy sources.

• 1988: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, University of Thessaloniki
• 1991: PhD in Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Liverpool

His research focuses on renewable energy sources, energy economy, and alternative energy conversion systems, with particular emphasis on electricity markets and energy saving technologies. His publications address distributed power generation, solar-aided power generation, and techno-economic assessments of solar power systems.

Scientific recognition includes:

• NASA Letter of Appreciation
• Participation in European and NATO research programs

He teaches undergraduate courses in Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Economy, and postgraduate courses in Special Energy Economy Funds and Energy Strategy and Policy.
