Dr. Georgina Moreno is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL), specializing in affective neuroscience and cultural psychology. She directs the Neuroscience and Behavior Program and the Latinx and Latin American Studies Program. Dr. Moreno holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Iowa and completed postdoctoral studies at NYU. Her research focuses on stress, emotion, decision-making, and Latinx psychological frameworks.

Recent publications explore drug therapies for anxiety, culturally adaptive ego frameworks, and pedagogical innovations for group-based learning. Her work bridges clinical neuroscience with sociocultural contexts.
Awards include the UHCL Center for Faculty Development Fellowship (2021–2024) and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (2011–2015).
Teaching responsibilities include courses on the Biological Basis of Behavior, Latinx Psychology, and Neuroscience. She actively mentors students in research and wellness initiatives.
