Dr Georgina Dimopoulos is an Associate Professor of Law at Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Business, Law and Arts, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Children and Young People. Her work focuses on children’s rights, family law, family violence, and privacy, with a particular emphasis on amplifying children’s voices in legal decision-making.

Dimopoulos’ research integrates socio-legal analysis with human rights frameworks to address gaps in children’s participation. Her 2022 book Decisional Privacy and the Rights of the Child proposes a model for child-inclusive legal processes. Recent publications examine financial abuse, gender care disputes, and trauma-informed support for victim-survivors.
Her work often employs co-research methodologies with children and young people as lived experience experts, influencing policy and legal practices in Australia and internationally. Awards include the 2024 Excellence in Teaching (Early Career) from IBILTA and the 2023 Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool.
