Georgina Chappell

Georgina Chappell is Senior Lecturer in Fashion History and Culture at Manchester Metropolitan University's Manchester Fashion Institute. She serves as module leader for Fashion Cultures and supervises final-year dissertations while teaching Fashion Futures.

Her research examines early 20th century fashion and beauty culture, Eve magazine (1919-1929), fashion in the DDR, and the relationship between avant-garde art movements and fashion. Additional interests include the development of youth culture until the mid-1980s.

As Commissioning Editor for the Journal of Dress History and external examiner for the Amsterdam Fashion Academy, she maintains active scholarly engagements. Administrative roles include Disability Coordinator for MFI and staff wellbeing champion.
