Georgie Friedman is a Lecturer in the Art, Culture and Technology Program at MIT's School of Architecture + Planning. She earned her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston/Tufts University and a BA from UC Santa Cruz. Her interdisciplinary practice focuses on natural phenomena, particularly climate change impacts, through large-scale video installations, site-specific public art, and photography.

Research Interests: Friedman explores the psychological and societal relationships to environmental forces like hurricanes, glacial melt, and oceanic conditions. She employs video, sound, engineering, and light physics to create immersive experiences that highlight human fragility in the Anthropocene. Her work often involves international field research, including a 2017 Antarctic expedition funded by SMFA/Tufts.
