Georgia Van de Zande

Georgia Van de Zande (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Olin College of Engineering, where she integrates global perspectives with user-centered design and mechanical engineering to create impactful solutions. Her work is informed by fieldwork in seven countries and focuses on expanding access to engineering for all.

Her research spans global engineering, design theory, and engineering education, including a Ph.D. project that developed a tool to bring precision agriculture's water- and energy-efficiency benefits to resource-constrained farms. She teaches courses such as Design Nature and Design for Manufacturing, emphasizing the design of engaging educational experiences.
