Georgia Janetzki is a dedicated Lecturer in the Bachelor of Communication Design Program at RMIT University's School of Design, where she has taught illustration, drawing, and design since 2003. She established the Illustration elective within the Communication Design curriculum, creating vital industry connections for students while advancing image-making within design contexts.
Her research explores relational aesthetics and connections between human and more-than-human beings through a feminist ethics of care lens, employing decolonizing methodologies to inform image-making and making-thinking practices. This manifests in community-focused textile art projects and exhibitions that examine social connections, pandemic responses, and environmental relationships.
Janetzki's creative output demonstrates consistent engagement with community art projects and textile-based practices, evolving from traditional printmaking toward socially engaged installations. Her work frequently addresses themes of isolation, collective memory, and sustainable material practices, reflecting her commitment to art as social practice.
