Georgia Chatzi is a Research Fellow in the Department of Social Statistics at The University of Manchester, affiliated with the Cathie Marsh Institute for Social Research. Her work focuses on social and health inequalities, advanced quantitative methods, and biomarker analysis in aging populations. She holds a PhD in Social Statistics from The University of Manchester (2015-2019), an MSc in Health and Society: Social Epidemiology from UCL (2015), and an MSc in Health Promotion from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2014).
Her research examines socioeconomic gradients in health biomarkers, chronic stress, and diabetes prevention programs. Notable projects include analyzing the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) to study hyperglycemia transitions and investigating the impact of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme. During the pandemic, her work explored social isolation disparities in older adults. She is a Royal Statistical Society Fellow and contributes to interdisciplinary research on aging through collaborations in health economics and gerontology.
