George Wu Bayuga is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), affiliated with the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences. His work intersects sociocultural anthropology, global Christianity, and labor studies, focusing on transnational Asian contexts and food systems.

Bayuga's research examines labor processes in religious identity formation, particularly among Mainland Chinese Catholic nuns. His fieldwork (2016-2018) spans the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mainland China, analyzing transnational religious education networks. He teaches courses on ethnographic methods, global Christianity, labor, food systems, and Asia-focused anthropology.
His recent publications include reviews of Death by Design (2020) and Queer Nuns (2019). He serves on the Society for the Anthropology of Work's Executive Board and advises the UCCS Anthropology Club. He is proficient in Mandarin and Tagalog.
