George V. Eleftheriades

George V. Eleftheriades is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, holding the Canada Research Chair in Nano- and Micro-Structured Electromagnetic Materials and Applications. He is a pioneering authority in metamaterials and transformation optics.

• Education: M.S.E.E. (1989), PhD (1993) in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

His research focuses on electromagnetic metamaterials, transformation optics, and their applications in microwave and optical components, small antennas, and plasmonic nanoscale systems. He introduced the loaded transmission-line method for metamaterial synthesis and demonstrated super-resolution imaging with Veselago-Pendry lenses.
