George Tsebelis is the Anatol Rapoport Collegiate Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia. He holds degrees from Washington University in St. Louis (Ph.D., Political Science), Pierre et Marie Curie University (Engineering Doctorate in Mathematical Statistics), Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Undergraduate, Political Science), and National Technical University of Athens (Undergraduate, Engineering). His research focuses on comparative politics, political institutions, and game-theoretic models analyzing institutional impacts in Western Europe, the European Union, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.
Key works include *Nested Games* (1991), *Bicameralism* (1997, coauthored), and *Veto Players* (2002), translated into multiple languages. He has received fellowships from the Guggenheim, Russell Sage, and Hoover Foundations. His teaching spans institutions, the EU, and advanced industrialized democracies.
