Dr. George Poste is a Regents’ Professor and Del E. Webb Chair in Health Innovation at Arizona State University (ASU), serving as Chief Scientist of the Complex Adaptive Systems Initiative (CASI). He also leads ASU's Institute for Future Health, a joint venture with the University of Arizona focusing on precision health and digital health. His roles include Health Solutions Ambassador in the College of Health Solutions and Regents Professor in the School of Life Sciences. Poste holds a PhD from the University of Bristol and has been honored with a CBE, multiple academic fellowships, and industry awards. His research spans biosecurity, cancer biology, and infectious diseases, with a focus on diagnostics, synthetic biology, and pandemic preparedness. He advises major organizations such as the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense and serves on boards of companies like Exelixis and Caris Life Sciences.
Education: PhD (1969), DVM (1966), DSc (1987) from the University of Bristol; Fellowships in prominent academies including the Royal Society and UK Academy of Medicine. Research interests include zoonotic diseases, biodefense strategies, and the integration of genomics and big data in healthcare.
