George Mylonas is an Associate Professor in Robotics and Technology in Cancer at the Department of Surgery & Cancer, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. He directs the HARMS Lab (Human-centred Automation, Robotics and Monitoring for Surgery) and is affiliated with the Hamlyn Centre, Artificial Intelligence Network, Cancer Technology Network, Human Behaviour and Experience Network, Institute of Global Health Innovation, and Robotics Forum.
He holds a BEng in Mechatronics from the University of Sussex, and an MSc in Computing Science and a PhD in Medical Imaging and Surgical Robotics from Imperial College London.
His research focuses on surgical robotics, minimal access surgical technology, cyber-physical systems, human-robot interfaces, eye-tracking, perceptual docking, and frugal innovation. He emphasizes human-centered approaches in automation and medical technology.
George's work integrates clinical sciences, biomedical engineering, and artificial intelligence, with applications in surgical monitoring and innovation. His lab explores interdisciplinary solutions for healthcare challenges.
