Ferdinando Rodriguez y Baena is a Professor of Medical Robotics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College London. He leads the MecharAtronics in Medicine Laboratory and the Applied Mechanics Division, and serves as Co-Director of the Hamlyn Centre (part of the Institute of Global Health Innovation). His work bridges medical robotics, biomechanics, and surgical innovation, with a focus on translating research into clinical applications. He chairs key robotics forums and has secured over £20M in grants, including the EU EDEN2020 project (€8.3M) for neurosurgical drug delivery.
