Prof. George Mylonakis serves as Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Khalifa University, UAE, while retaining his position as Chair in Geotechnics and Soil-Structure Interaction at the University of Bristol and Adjunct Professorship at UCLA.
His academic credentials include:
- 5-Year Diploma in Civil Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (1993)
- PhD in Civil Engineering from State University of New York (1996)
His research specializes in Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) with emphasis on piles and retaining structures, advancing seismic design methodologies in geotechnical engineering. This work bridges theoretical soil dynamics and practical foundation engineering applications.
Prof. Mylonakis has led sponsored research projects across USA and Europe, and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Geotechnics since 2021.
