Dr. George Lenon is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health and Biomedical Sciences at RMIT University, Australia. His research focuses on evidence-based approaches in Chinese medicine, particularly exploring the mechanisms and clinical efficacy of herbal medicines and acupuncture for chronic conditions such as obesity, allergy management, and atopic dermatitis. He has contributed to randomized clinical trials evaluating interventions like electroacupuncture combined with mindfulness meditation for weight management. Dr. Lenon has received multiple teaching awards, including the Office of Learning and Teaching Citation from the Australian Government in 2013 and 2012, and RMIT Learning and Teaching Awards in 2012 and 2011, recognizing his educational development work in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
His teaching roles include coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Acupuncture Theory and Practice, Clinical Chinese Medicine, and Acupuncture Neurophysiology. He has developed innovative online learning modules and apps to enhance student engagement. His research interests extend to computational analysis of herbal compounds, in silico drug discovery, and systematic reviews of herbal medicine efficacy. Supervision projects under his guidance explore topics ranging from herbal medicine for obesity to acupuncture in cancer pain management.
