George Fantry

Dr. George Fantry holds the title of Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia. He concurrently serves as Vice Dean for Education at the University of Arizona College of Health Sciences and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs in the Global MD Program. His roles focus on enhancing student services, career guidance, residency preparation, and promoting wellness.

• Education: MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University (1984), followed by residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and a Gastroenterology fellowship (1988–1990).

Research interests include gastroenterology, specifically esophageal diseases, and medical education innovation. He has led programs such as the Heartburn and Dyspepsia Program and contributed to curriculum development in Pathophysiology and Therapeutics.

Prior roles include Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions at the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Tucson (2016–2022) and various leadership positions at the University of Maryland School of Medicine over 26 years.
