George Clarke

George Clarke holds the BBVA/Compass Bank Group Distinguished Chair of International Economics and Finance at Texas A&M International University's A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business. As Director of the Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade and Editor of 'The International Trade Journal', his research examines privatization, competition frameworks, and corruption in developing economies.

With prior World Bank experience as Senior Private Sector Development Specialist, Clarke contributes to development policy design. His current work analyzes gender-corruption relationships and regulatory impacts in special economic zones. Publications span academic journals covering economic development, investment climates, and trade policy.
