George Alachouzos

George Alachouzos, PhD is an active researcher in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Groningen. His research focuses on the development and application of photochemical methods, particularly in the area of photocleavable protecting groups and light-controlled molecular systems.

His research interests span multiple areas of organic photochemistry, with particular expertise in protecting group chemistry (100%), alkene chemistry (87%), quantum yield optimization (70%), and cation chemistry (50%). His work demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections to sustainable chemistry and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to responsible consumption and production.
