Georg Prokert is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He is affiliated with the Applied Analysis group within the Center for Analysis, Scientific Computing & Applications (CASA). His research focuses on applied functional analysis, particularly in nonlinear evolution equations arising from free and moving boundary problems in continuum mechanics, mathematical biology, and electrodynamics.
Prokert's research explores well-posedness and qualitative properties of solutions to complex physical systems. His work spans theoretical analysis of partial differential equations, modeling of biological processes, and contributions to quantum mechanics via the Kohn-Sham equations. Recent publications highlight applications in two-phase fluid dynamics, fungal growth modeling, and evaporation front dynamics.
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in:
- Time-dependent Kohn-Sham equations coupled with nuclear dynamics
- Hydrodynamic potential methods for Stokes flow
- Viscous sheet approximations in biological systems
- Dynamic boundary conditions in porous media
- Nonlinear singular integral operators
- Parabolic smoothing in Sobolev spaces
