Dr. Georg Lehner is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Algebraic Topology group at Freie Universität Berlin. His research focuses on algebraic K-theory, particularly the Farrell-Jones conjecture and the interplay between group rings and topological structures. He holds a PhD (Summa Cum Laude, 2021) and Master's degree from Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt University, respectively, both under Prof. Holger Reich.
Research interests span algebraic K-theory, group and representation theory, homotopy theory, higher category theory, differential topology, topos theory, and categorical logic. He also explores connections to machine learning and quantum computing. Lehner has authored preprints on negative K-theory computations and group completion via ∞-categories, and presented at conferences such as the Peripatetic Seminar on Sheaves and Logic.
Teaching includes courses on analysis, topology, and seminars on geometric group theory and algebraic K-theory. He advises master's and bachelor's students on topics like K-theory and Morse theory. His GitHub repository contains code for computing negative K-theory of group rings.
