Gabriel Angelini-Knoll is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics at Case Western Reserve University. Previously, he held postdoctoral positions at Université Paris 13, Freie Universität Berlin, and Michigan State University, with a guest position at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn (2024-2025). He earned his PhD at Wayne State University under Andrew Salch.
Research Interests: His work focuses on algebraic topology and algebraic K-theory, particularly computational methods with applications to arithmetic and geometry. Key areas include topological Hochschild homology, Morava K-theory, syntomic cohomology, and equivariant homotopy theory. His published work explores chromatic complexity, redshift phenomena, and connections to Lichtenbaum-Quillen conjectures.
Teaching and Mentoring: Gabriel has taught courses like Introduction to Abstract Algebra (Case Western Reserve) and Algebraic K-theory (Freie Universität Berlin). He co-supervised Master’s and undergraduate theses on topics such as Real topological Hochschild homology, generalized Tate cohomology, and infinity categories. He organizes seminars on chromatic homotopy theory, Hermitian K-theory, and related topics.
Collaborations and Conferences: Active in international collaborations, he works with researchers like Ch. Ausoni, M. Behrens, and J.D. Quigley. He has delivered invited talks at institutions including MIT, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, and Isaac Newton Institute, with presentations at AMS Sectional Meetings and Oberwolfach.
