Elden Elmanto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. His research focuses on advanced areas of algebraic geometry and homotopy theory, particularly through a motivic perspective. He investigates algebraic cycles, vector bundles, and motivic cohomology, often leveraging techniques from derived algebraic geometry and p-adic geometry. Recently, he co-developed a motivic cohomology theory for singular schemes with Matthew Morrow.
His work spans topics like algebraic K-theory, motivic homotopy theory, and the interplay between topology and arithmetic geometry.
