Georg Kaulfersch is a Lecturer and research associate at the Chair of Modern History (Early Modern Period) at the University of Regensburg. His work bridges the Cultural History of Pre-Modern Diplomacy with a focus on Dynasty and Family in the Early Modern Period, particularly the Habsburgs and Charles V. He also explores Self-Representations and Archival Practices, Renaissance, and Humanism in early modern Europe.
His 2023 monograph Ein Gesandter in der ersten Sattelzeit der Diplomatie examines the diplomatic practices of Johann Maria Warschitz through praxeological and actor-centered lenses, drawing on a unique private archive and European sources. Recent publications include analyses of monastic chronicles in the Peasants' War and Renaissance-era identity formation.
