Dr. Georg Frenck is currently acting as a Professor in the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology at the University of Göttingen, affiliated with the Institute of Mathematics. He holds the role of Academic Councillor (aZ). His research focuses on differential geometry, topology, and geometric analysis, particularly on spaces of Riemannian metrics, positive scalar curvature, and manifold structures. He has been actively involved in teaching across multiple semesters (e.g., SoSe 2025 to WiSe 10/11) and has contributed to the DFG-SPP 2026 research program. Frenck collaborates with leading researchers such as Bernhard Hanke, Wolfgang Steimle, and Jens Reinhold. His work bridges geometric analysis with algebraic topology, exploring curvature constraints and manifold classification.
Research interests include the topology and geometry of manifolds, with emphasis on curvature conditions and their implications on metric spaces. Recent work examines cohomogeneity one manifolds, non-multiplicative A-hat-genus bundles, and κ-classes sphericity. Frenck’s publications span journals like Geometriae Dedicata, Mathematische Annalen, and Transactions of the American Mathematical Society.
His academic contributions include organizing conferences and seminars in differential geometry, reflecting his role in advancing geometric research networks. Frenck’s address is at Universitätsstraße 14, 86159 Augsburg, though his primary affiliation is with the University of Göttingen.
