Dr. Georg Braun is a Researcher in the Cell Toxicology Department at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig. His work focuses on effect-based human biomonitoring, chemical mixture exposure impacts, and immunotoxic effects. He holds a PhD in Cell Toxicology, with prior studies in Bioanalysis from Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
- Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. Bioanalysis (Coburg University), PhD in Cell Toxicology (UFZ).
Research interests include developing models to assess chemical mixtures' effects on neuronal and immune cells, with projects like Endomix (EU-funded) targeting pollutant mixtures' immunomodulatory impacts. He collaborates with the German Center for Child and Adolescent Health to study chemical mixtures' effects on developmental health. Contributions to tools like MLinvitroTox (machine learning for toxicity prioritization) highlight his methodological expertise.
Recent activities include presenting at SETAC Europe 2025 on New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and chemical exposome research.
