Dr. Genine Hook is an Adjunct Lecturer in Sociology at the University of New England’s School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD from Monash University (2015) and has taught at La Trobe University, the University of New England, and the University of the Sunshine Coast. Her expertise includes gender studies, higher education equity, feminist pedagogy, and family-based violence. Dr. Hook’s research emphasizes the experiences of sole parent students and challenges systemic barriers faced by marginalized groups in academia.
