Geneviève Deblois is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Montreal and a member of the IRIC (Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie de l'Université de Montréal). She maintains her office at Pavillon Marcelle-Coutu (office 3306-17) and can be reached at genevieve.deblois@umontreal.ca or by phone at 514 343-6111 #0617. Her research profile is also available on ResearchGate, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
Dr. Deblois specializes in the study of epigenetic and metabolic mechanisms contributing to therapeutic resistance in breast cancer, with particular focus on triple-negative breast cancer. Her expertise spans Antibiotics and Resistance, Drug resistance, Neoplasms, Breast Cancer, and Metabolic Pharmacology. She teaches PHA1140 (Fonctionnement normal du corps humain) and is involved in Health Sciences education programs.
Dr. Deblois has secured multiple significant research grants as principal investigator from major funding bodies including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Quebec Health Research Fund (FRQS), and the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute (IRSCC). Her current research projects span from 2020 to 2031, with several focusing on metabolic vulnerabilities in cancer, chromatin dependencies in triple-negative breast cancer, and therapeutic strategies for poor-outcome cancers.
She has supervised Master's students including Ann-Sophie Gironne (2024) working on transposable elements induced by chemotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer, and Myriame St-Arnaud (2023) studying metabolic profile regulation by the Enhancer of Zeste Homologue 2 methyltransferase in triple-negative breast cancer. Her research approach integrates metabolic regulation with chromatin modification studies to understand cancer progression and resistance mechanisms.
