Gene Alexander is a Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Arizona, where he directs the Brain Imaging, Behavior, & Aging Laboratory. His research focuses on brain-behavior relationships in aging, particularly using neuroimaging techniques like MRI and PET to study Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline.
His lab investigates interactions between neuropsychological function, health status, and genetic risk factors in aging populations. Recent work highlights links between sedentary behavior, air pollution, and dementia risk, as well as the neural benefits of exercise.
