Previously, she taught at Brighton University (2018) and Brunel University London as a visiting lecturer.
Her work critically engages with pro-anorexia subcultures, women’s alcohol consumption narratives, and the cultural politics of thinness in social media environments. Key publications include her 2020 monograph Negotiating Thinness Online and articles exploring sober influencing and pandemic-era drinking behaviors. She actively supervises PhD students researching topics related to digital culture and embodiment.
Publications span peer-reviewed journals like Journal of Gender Studies and Feminist Media Studies, with methodologies emphasizing critical discourse analysis and digital ethnography. Her current research examines moral panics around women’s drinking practices in the context of 'quit lit' and online sobriety movements.
