Gelareh (Ellie) Towhidi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the University of West Georgia's Richards College of Business. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Advanced Networking, and Data Science.
Her research focuses on cybersecurity education alignment with industry needs, trust modeling in online communities, and experiential learning methods like hackathons. Recent work examines opinion leadership's impact on consumer trust in e-commerce environments.
She holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2017), an MSc in Information Technology from Iran University of Science and Technology (2006), and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Alzahra University (2002). Office hours are held online weekly.
