Geetha Ravishankar is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Finance and Economics at the Economics, Finance and Entrepreneurship Department of Aston University, located within the Aston Business School (College of Business and Social Sciences). She serves as Programme Director for the Doctorate in Business Administration. Her research focuses on international economics and financial economics, emphasizing performance analysis through econometric and mathematical programming methods, particularly applied to policy assessment in financial services and international trade.
Dr. Ravishankar holds a PhD in Economics from Loughborough University, an MSc in Banking & Finance from Loughborough University, and a BSc in Banking & Finance from the University of Bahrain. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Her research interests include stochastic frontier analysis, trade efficiency, foreign direct investment (FDI), and gravity models. Recent work examines trade efficiency in EU member states post-Brexit, FDI determinants in Eastern Europe, and commercial real estate portfolio diversification strategies. Her articles often bridge theoretical econometric frameworks with practical policy implications.
Key awards and affiliations include her Senior Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy. Beyond research, she has extensive teaching experience in microeconomics, finance, and research methods across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
