Geetha Karunanayake

Dr. Geetha Karunanayake is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing, Management, and Business Strategy at the Hull University Business School (University of Hull). She serves as the Global MBA Programme Director and holds a Senior Fellowship in the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Her academic journey includes a PhD in Management from the University of Hull (2011) and prior teaching experience at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She specializes in identity scholarship, cross-cultural management, and critical organizational practices, incorporating sociological perspectives to explore workplace social dynamics.

PhD Supervision: Supervises research on gender inequality in Saudi workplaces, institutional isomorphism in Bangladeshi garment sectors, and banking empowerment in Jordan. Completed students have explored talent management in Chinese universities and ICT impacts on Saudi women’s employment.
