Geer Teng

Dr. Geer Teng is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Oxford's Institute of Biomedical Engineering, affiliated with the BUBBL research group. He holds a BEng and PhD from the Beijing Institute of Technology, where his doctoral research focused on tumor and bacterial diagnosis using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and spectroscopy imaging.

His research spans biomedical photonics, specializing in advanced spectroscopy techniques for clinical diagnostics. Key areas include:

• Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for cancer and autoimmune disease detection
• Polarization-resolved spectral fusion for improved tissue identification
• Hyperspectral imaging with orbital angular momentum modulation
• Machine learning integration for disease classification and signal optimization
• Multi-angle polarization multispectral imaging systems
• Raman spectroscopy for complex biological sample analysis

Recent publications demonstrate his work in neurosurgical oncology, particularly glioma boundary detection, and clinical diagnostics covering autoimmune encephalitis, melanoma, and breast cancer. His technical innovations include polarization state manipulation to enhance spectral signals and compressive imaging techniques for biomedical applications.

Current projects involve developing apparatus and protocols for spectroscopic imaging of biological structures under physical stimuli, in collaboration with Professor Eleanor Stride and Professor Robin Cleveland within the BUBBL group.
