Gay Lynch is a Full Time Assistant Professor in the Humanities department at Dominican University's School of Liberal Arts and Education. She earned her BA in Religious Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, an MTS in Religions of the World from Harvard Divinity School, and a PhD in Cultural and Historical Study of Religions from the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley. Her academic career, which began at age 50, is deeply intertwined with her personal journey, including the profound loss of her youngest son in 1991, which inspired her focus on cross-cultural responses to death and ritual.
