Gavin Halm is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at the University of California, San Diego. He specializes in teaching media production, history, and emerging technologies, including 2D/3D animation, virtual reality (VR), AI-driven imagery, and advertising. His professional background includes VR development for Hollywood studios and award-winning advertising campaigns.

Research & Practice: Gavin explores intersections of technology and creativity, focusing on VR cinematography, generative AI in art, and post-production techniques. His work includes directing VR experiences for Outlander and The 33, collaborating with Reverge VR and Facebook on cinematic VR systems, and producing early viral marketing campaigns like the Suzuki Automotive "Honkin' Bastard" video (2007).
