Gavin Davies

Gavin Davies is an Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy and Graduate Program Coordinator at the University of Mississippi's Department of Physics and Astronomy, located within the College of Liberal Arts. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Lancaster University (UK) and completed postdoctoral research at Indiana University, where he contributed to the NOvA experiment at Fermilab.

His research focuses on experimental elementary particle physics, particularly neutrino physics. He serves as Mississippi's Principal Investigator for Fermilab's Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) and previously chaired the Fermilab Users Executive Committee. He teaches courses such as Physics for Science & Engineering I/II and Advanced Mechanics I.

Notable professional roles include co-chairing an international astronautics committee and contributing to Fermilab's DUNE project. His work advances high-energy physics through cutting-edge neutrino research initiatives.
