Gautom Das is Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering at UMBC. His work bridges nanomaterials engineering and biomedical applications.
Research focuses on:
- Nanoparticle-based biosensors
- Inhalation toxicology of engineered materials
- Theranostic agent development
- Nanomaterial-cell interactions
Publications demonstrate expertise in sensor design for pathogen detection and characterization of nanomaterial behavior in biological systems. Recent work explores nanoparticle aerosols for pulmonary research applications. Teaching includes transport phenomena and biomedical engineering courses.
