Associate Professor Gautam Bose is affiliated with the School of Economics at UNSW Business School. His research focuses on microeconomic theory, development economics, labour economics, and behavioural economics. He investigates topics such as corruption in developing economies, labour market dynamics, women’s workforce participation, and the impact of social norms.
His work spans theoretical models of intermediation, search and matching markets, and contests. He also explores policy interventions like affirmative action and tax strategies to address equity concerns. Recent studies include contributions on peacebuilding, the role of technology in household labour participation, and the interplay between culture, economic shocks, and conflict.
Bose’s publications reflect a commitment to understanding complex socio-economic phenomena, with a particular emphasis on institutional design and policy solutions. His research has been published in leading journals and working papers, addressing global challenges in development and governance.
