Dr. Gaurav Bansal is the Chair and O'Bleness Full Professor of Analytics & Information Systems at the Ohio University College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science (MIS) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research focuses on the bidirectional relationship between technology and society, particularly exploring trust restoration after data breaches, gender challenges in IT leadership, AI's impact on cultural homogenization, and fake news psychology. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles in top journals like Information & Management and Journal of Computer Information Systems, with over 3,000 Google Scholar citations.
Dr. Bansal’s academic roles include serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research. He has received prestigious awards including the UW-Green Bay Founders Award (2018 and 2020) and multiple Best Paper Awards at the Midwest AIS conferences. His industry experience includes roles as a Quality Assurance Engineer at General Motors India and Daewoo Motors India.
